Machine Readable Passport (MRP)
In light of the prevailing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic situation in New York, as per the guidelines of the local New York government, Bangladesh Consulate General, New York highly emphasizes the public health safety and encourages the valued service seekers to receive consular services by trackable US Postal service. In case of any emergency, Consulate General can be visited after obtaining appointment. In order to Re-issue of MRP (Machine Readable Passport) where there is no change in previous data and photo service seekers are advised to send Postal Mail including return paid envelope with required documents. In such case, physical presence of the applicants is not required. Upon receiving the proper documents, necessary action will be taken immediately and new passport will be delivered once the same is received from the Department of Passport in Bangladesh. বর্তমানে নিউইয়র্কে করোনাভাইরাস (কভিড-১৯) প্যানডেমিক পরিস্থিতিতে স্থানীয় নিউইয়র্ক সরকার কর্তৃক আরোপিত নির্দেশনা অনুযায়ী জনস্বাস্থ্যের প্রতি সর্বোচ্চ গুরুত্ব প্রদান করে বাংলাদেশ কনস্যুলেট জেনারেল, নিউইয়র্ক ট্রেকএ্যাবল পোস্টাল সার্ভিসের মাধ্যমে সেবা গ্রহণকে সর্বাধিক অগ্রাধিকার প্রদান করছে। তবে, জরুরী প্রয়োজনে সংশ্লিষ্ট কনস্যুলার সেবা গ্রহণের জন্য এ্যাপয়েন্টমেন্ট এর ভিত্তিতে কনস্যুলেট জেনারেলে আগমন করা যাবে। Machine Readable Passport (MRP) রি-ইস্যু’র ক্ষেত্রে পূর্বের তথ্য ও ছবি পরিবর্তন না থাকলে আবেদনকারীগণকে সশরীরে উপস্থিত না হয়ে নিম্নবর্ণিত প্রয়োজনীয় কাগজপত্রসহ পোস্টাল সার্ভিসে আবেদন প্রেরণপূর্বক সেবা গ্রহণের জন্য অনুরোধ করা যাচ্ছে। উল্লেখ্য, আবেদন প্রেরণের সময় ট্রেকিং নাম্বারসহ ফেরত খাম (রিটার্ন ইনভেলপ) অবশ্যই সংযুক্ত করতে হবে। আবেদনপত্রের সাথে প্রয়োজনীয় কাগজপত্র প্রাপ্তি সাপেক্ষে দ্রুততম সময়ে পরবর্তী কার্যক্রম গ্রহণ করা হবে। বাংলাদেশ পাসপোর্ট অধিদপ্তর হতে নতুন পাসপোর্ট (MRP) প্রাপ্তি সাপেক্ষে তা রিটার্ন ইনভেলপ এ আবেদনকারীর ঠিকানায় প্রেরণ করা হবে। MRP সম্পর্কিত জরুরী কাগজপত্র জনিত প্রয়োজনে যোগাযোগ করুন : [email protected]
In case of consular services by postal and courier services, the Consulate General of Bangladesh, New York strongly suggests and requests that the consular service seekers should send TRACKABLE envelop/mail for safety and ensured receipt of their passports/documents.
Mail in Service: Applications for Machine Readable Passport/Re-issue Passports (MRP) may be DELIVERED by mail. Considering the efficiency of postal services in the United States, applicants are advised to use mail-in-service to save time and money. When the MRP/Re-issued passport is “Ready to Pick up” applicant can receive it by mail, sending a returned certified mail with tracking number. Please make it confirm that the original Delivery Receipt and original Passport is sent with the returned mail.
