Kazi Imtiaz Hossain joined the Bangladesh Foreign Service in 1989. Before taking up his current post as the Bangladesh Consul General in New York in August 2005, he served as Minister in the Bangladesh Embassy in Beijing. During a diplomatic career spanning over 16 years, Mr. Hossain has also served in Bangladesh Missions in New York, India, and Geneva, as well as in the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry in various capacities.
Mr. Hossain has represented Bangladesh in various international, regional and bilateral fora, including at the Conference of Disarmament and IAEA, World Health Organization, International Labor Organization, and World Intellectual Property Organization.
Mr. Hossain holds a post graduate degree in Accounting from Dhaka University and has a diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy from Institute Internationale d’Administration Public (IIAP), Paris.
He is married and has a daughter.
