Mr. Munshi Faiz Ahmad served as the Consul General of Bangladesh in New York from 13 June 2001 to 30 November 2001.

Mr. Ahmad obtained his Masters in Political Science from the University of Dhaka and joined the Bangladesh Foreign Service in 1979.

During his long diplomatic career, Mr. Ahmad served the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Missions in Beijing, Hong Kong, London and Doha in various capacities. In 2000-2001, he served as Director General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the International Organisation and South Asia Wings. In June 2001, he took over as Bangladesh Consul General in New York. He was appointed as the Bangladesh Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York in December 2001 and served there until February 2003.

In March 2003, Mr. Ahmad took over as the Bangladesh High Commissiner to Singapore.

Mr. Ahmad has represented Bangladesh in various international and regional conferences.

He is married and has two daughters.
